How to Prepare Varenyky (Pierogi)

Ingredients:

FOR THE FILLING
1-2 ½ cups Cherries (approximately 200-500 grams)
Sugar, to taste


FOR THE DOUGH
2 ½ cups flour
2 tsp salt
1 cup of boiling water
3 ½ tbsp of sunflower oil

Instructions:

Boil water. Mix in salt.
Add this mix to flour. Add oil.
Mix with fork. Then fold with hands.
Leave dough in bowl and cover with a towel. Let sit for 1 hour at room temperature.
After one hour, take out the dough. Knead again.
Place dough in a bag. Refrigerate for 2-3 hours.
Pour flour on clean dry counter or flat surface. Roll out dough.
Cut dough into circles about 2 ½ inches in diameter.
Spread the dough in the palm of your hand.
Add sugar(optional) and 2-3 cherries(with or without pits).
Carefully place varenyky in boiling water for 2-3 minutes.
